Your Link to the Crude Oil Supply Chain

CSX works closely with many terminals on the East Coast, delivering crude oil throughout the U.S. and Canada. We serve suppliers, terminals and refineries through a variety of flexible transport options designed to move crude oil in the most efficient way possible.

Site Selection Assistance

Our site development team uses a rigorous selection process to help you find the best place to build your terminal and assist with the permitting process. Or, if you would like to connect your existing facility to the rail network, we can help you upgrade your current terminal.

Extensive Origination and Delivery Options

We work with many terminals via traditional rail routes, but we also serve many terminals through alternative delivery options such as Rail-to-Pipe, Pipe-to-Rail and transloading.

Proactive Community Engagement

Whether you’re building a terminal in a new location or are using rail for the first time, our state government affairs personnel can help engage the local community to develop a solution that best serves the needs of everyone involved.

Safety is a Way of Life

Railroad safety is a core value at CSX — a value that factors into every decision we make regarding our employees, customers and the communities we serve.

  • CSX provides emergency planning assistance and training to local fire, police and emergency response personnel in the communities we serve.
  • Founded in 2005, CSX’s Railroad Education & Development Institute (REDI) provides mandatory training in the transportation, mechanical and engineering sectors – everything it takes to run rail the right way.
  • Advanced technology employed on our routes proactively detects equipment defects on en-route trains.
  • CSX complies with all federal safety standards and exceeds many of the rail industry's voluntary practices. These are standards related to the securing of trains, job briefings and equipment inspections, among others.
